BROKERS

Broker Courses:

In accordance with the Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission regulations, applicants for a Broker License must complete 16 credits/240 hours (1 credit=15 hours) of real estate study in one of the following ways:
  1. Obtaining a bachelor’s degree majoring in real estate from a college or university,
  2. Obtaining a juris doctorate degree,OR
  3. Completing the following courses from an approved provider:
  • Real Estate Office Management (at least two credits)
  • Real Estate Law (at least two credits) AND at least 6 credits in 3 of the following topics:
    • Valuation of Income-Producing Property
    • Valuation of Residential Property
    • Non-Residential Property Management
    • Residential Property Management
    • Residential Construction
    • Real Estate Sales
    • Real Estate Investment
    • Real Estate Finance
    • Basic Appraisal Procedures
    • Basic Appraisal Principles
Courses must be completed within 10 years of the passing date of both portions of the examination unless the courses were taken as part of a bachelor’s degree or a juris doctor degree.

Schedule: 10 classes - 3 hours each = 30 hours
Weeknights: Mondays & Wednesdays 6 - 9pm

  • LVAR Member: $325 per course
  • Non-Member: $340 per course

Real Estate Brokerage and Office Management

This 30 hour course will cover planning and organizing, opening a RE office, controlling the market, directing-theories of management, role of the manager, leadership, transition-sales to management, communications skills, human resources (staffing), business ethics and legal considerations.
